Child support

Consideration will always need to be given to the costs of raising the children. A person with whom a child lives is entitled to claim child support from the children's parents.

The amount of child support payable is determined by the Child Support laws.  Those laws use a formula based on the taxable income of both parents and the number of children in the family to calculate the amount of child support payable.

Where there are unusual circumstances, either party can ask the child support agency to review the amount payable. We are able to help you with disputes relating to child support and child support agreements.
